Station
Monitor - The model RF-SM
(Variable RF Sampler / RF Demodulator with Headphone
and External Trigger Out for Station Monitoring) is
designed specifically for those who do not use linear
amplification but want the best RF station monitoring
capabilities available.
The Variable RF Sampler of the model RF-SM
is designed to specifically sample and convert very
low RF power envelopes directly to a usable signal
suitable for feeding the vertical "Y" input of your
oscilloscope or establish a pre-distortion feedback
signal for use with SDR based systems!
The isolated External Trigger output of the model RF-SM
provides a unique signal suitable for feeding the
"External Trigger" input of your oscilloscope. This
signal has an ability to synchronize your horizontal
modulation envelope sweep, regardless of changing
voice or data modulated frequencies, in either SSB or
AM envelope monitoring making your envelope
lock-in-place when you speak! No more
difficult-to-view envelope patterns!
A base-band AM Audio Demodulator is also provided,
designed to directly demodulate the RF envelope from
your transmitter to a usable signal yielding and
boasting a flat audio frequency response ranging from
10 Hz to 16 kHz! This signal is suitable for feeding
stereo headphones, line level amplifiers or audio
mixers with the final audio level adjustable via the
AF output level pot to the 1/4" TRS output Jack,
remember this does not adjust the fixed trigger
output.
Additionally, the model RF-SM
features a passive-flat operational VSWR over a broad
frequency range and insertion loss is a negligible 0.1
dB. The RF-SM produces both an
un-rectified, variable and adjustable non-directional
sample at the BNC; a rectified, continuously variable,
non-directional demodulated source at the 1/4" TRS
jack and a rectified, non-variable, non-directional
demodulated source at the external triggers BNC jack
making the RF-SM an ideal choice for
a variety of applications.
All CleanRF Systems chassis are built, hand assembled and
tested here in the USA headquartered near the grounds
of WWV and are finished over by a baked-on black
textured outer-coating finish for decades of continual
service and performance. Connectors are custom long
barrel SO239’s for easy installation. Products are
fully warrantied against any defects both electrically
or mechanically and include BNC cables and adapters
for plug and play operation!

RF
Demodulator - The model RF-D
(RF Base-Band Demodulator) designed to directly
demodulate the RF envelope from your transmitter to a
usable signal suitable for feeding the Horizontal "X"
input of your oscilloscope. This establishes a
pre-amplifier reference signal when used with any of
the series RF-S Variable RF Samplers for Splatter View
operation!
The base-band AM Audio Demodulator provides a signal
boasting a flat audio frequency response ranging from
10 Hz to 16 kHz! This signal is suitable for feeding
stereo headphones, line level amplifiers or audio
mixers with the final audio level adjustable via the
AF output level pot to the 1/4" TRS output Jack.
Additionally, the RF-D also provides
RF envelope source trigger synchronization. This
unique signal is fit for supplying the "Internal
Source CH 1 (X) Trigger" selection of your
oscilloscope. This option has the ability to
synchronize your horizontal modulation envelope sweep,
regardless of changing voice or data modulated
frequencies in either SSB or AM envelope monitoring
making your envelope lock-in-place when you speak! No
more difficult-to-view envelope patterns!
The RF-D features a passive-flat
operational VSWR over a broad frequency range and
insertion loss is a negligible 0.1 dB and produces a
rectified, non-directional, demodulated source at the
BNC and a continuously adjustable AF output to the

The " Splatter
View" 2,000 Watt
The Splatter View 2K (model RF-D/RF-S2K)
is made up of two independent plug-and-play passive
solutions for exact monitoring of your stations RF
performance, ensuring a low IMD splatter-free signal
with maximum in-band talk-power. Achieving a true
pre/post RF comparison has never been easier than
plugging in the two RG-58 BNC cables provided to your
existing oscilloscope!
The idea behind the Splatter View
series is simple. What goes into your amplifier, must
be the same coming out -with the only added benefit of
gain -period. Nothing else added to or taken away from
your signal.
When you are truly linear, you will see crisp lines
making up the sides of the trapezoid with no curves as
shown in the images provided on our Applications page
and movie demo near the bottom of our Applications
page, showing a true trapezoidal pattern and those
that are non-linear.
Our Product Info Sheet PDF below is a great reference
for understanding the trapezoidal pattern as well. In
addition, the system may be used in RF envelope
monitoring mode with the benefit of the internal
trigger. The trigger, is a wonderful signal that will
lock the waveform as you speak.
Now monitoring in envelope mode is made much easier
thanks to the filtered signal provided by our system
into your oscilloscope. Independent product
descriptions making up the Splatter View combo’s may
be read above.

AM
Modulation Monitor - The model RF-AM5K
(AM Modulation Monitor) is designed both as an AM Audio
Demodulator, External Trigger source and Variable RF
Sampler.
The base band AM Audio Demodulator is designed to
directly demodulate the RF envelope from your
transmitter to a usable signal, yielding a flat audio
frequency response ranging from 10 Hz to 16 kHz.
This signal is suitable for feeding stereo headphones,
line level amplifiers or audio mixers with the final
audio level adjustable to the 1/4" TRS output Jack.
The External Trigger output of the model RF-AM5K
provides a unique signal suitable for feeding the
"External Trigger" input of your oscilloscope. This
signal has an ability to synchronize your horizontal
modulation envelope sweep, regardless of changing voice
or data modulated frequencies, in either SSB or AM
envelope monitoring.
An RF envelope may be monitored simultaneously from the
Variable RF Sampler in conjunction with an oscilloscope.
The power rating is from 120w ~ 4000w PEP, typical 1000w
carrier. The model RF-AM5K is an ideal
solution for high powered medium wave, short wave or
amateur broadcast transmitters.
Note: It is recommended to
stay as near to your transmitter’s max PEP power
rating when choosing any of the RF-AM series, as
this will yield the best signal output to the end
user.
Additionally, the model RF-AM5K
features a passive-flat operational VSWR over a broad
frequency range and insertion loss is a negligible 0.1
dB. The RF-AM5K produces both an
un-rectified, variable and continuously adjustable
non-directional sample at the BNC; a rectified,
continuously variable, non-directional demodulated
source at the 1/4" TRS jack and a rectified,
non-variable, non-directional demodulated source at the
external triggers BNC jack making the RF-AM5K
an ideal choice for a variety of applications.
